Apr. 10 Devotion: What’s Seen In You?

What’s Seen In You?

Philippians 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

I started off preaching at the jail yesterday pointing out that yesterday was one of two days a year that the world takes notice of Jesus. People will celebrate His birth and His resurrection. While I’m thankful for this I also pointed out how many show no love for Him the other 363 days of the year. They want to come to church and act spiritual so to speak for 2 days a year. You see nothing else in their life that would show a love for God. It’s easy to point fingers at the world, but what is seen in us? While we may be more faithful to going to church what does our life show the other 6 days of the week? Do we show the world the same love that Christ shows us? Do we show the world the same forgiveness Christ shows us? If we are going to live up to the word Christian and be Christ-like do they see Christ in us? Our pastor mentioned it yesterday. Our world is where it’s at because of the world not seeing Christ in is. Have you done all you can do to point others to Christ? What does the world see in you on a day to day basis? Do they see the peace of God in you? Do they see anything different in you than other people in the world? If we want real change in the world it has to start with the world seeing something different in Christians. If we are walking around down all the time, complaining all the time, or our lives show a constant roller coaster and no peace of God then we can’t expect them to want anything we have. We have to show others Christ in us if we are going to see a change in others.

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
