Reaping Don’t Stop
Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
I’ve had people make the statement to me that all their problems started when they became faithful to church. They said they started going to church and then everything around them began to fall apart. You ever seen or heard this? What about someone who thinks that if they start being faithful to the things of God then all their problems should just go away. We know if that was the case then everyone would just get saved for the benefits and not for Christ. I’m afraid sometimes we can let a little bit of that self-righteousness kick in and we think that we are trying to do the right thing so nothing bad should happen to us. Yet our text verse tells us that we will reap what we sow. There is no statute of limitations on what we sow. I’m blessed to be able to be at Bro. Rocky’s jubilee the end of this week and Bro. David Epps made this statement while preaching: “The reaping don’t stop just because you got saved.” Yes Jesus cleanses us and washes away all our sins when we get saved, but that don’t mean we might not still reap some of the things we sowed before that. It also don’t mean that because we are saved we won’t reap from things we’ve done wrong since we’ve been saved. Ask yourself what are you sowing towards today? The next verse in this portion of Scripture tells us what we can expect to reap based on how you answered that question.
Galatians 6:8
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
God bless you today!
