Apr. 8 Devotion: A Godly Testimony

Having A Godly Testimony

Matthew 14:1-2

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, [2] And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

The definition of the word testimony is to be a witness, bear record, have a honest report. A Godly testimony is not what you think about yourself, but it is what others think about you. John the Baptist had lived such a Godly life that after his death that Herod thought that Jesus was John because of all the mighty works that he had done. In Hebrews 11.5 the Bible says about Enoch that he had this testimony and that he pleased God. Seems in our world people think that their opinion of themself is all that matters. We should not live our life to be people pleasers but we should live our lives so that it pleases God. We ought to care about what people think. A Godly testimony will out live you. When your long gone people will have their opinion about you. So why not leave here with the approval our God on our lives!

God bless
