Aug 2 Devotion: I Used To Do That

I Used To Do That

Luke 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

While I know technically I might not be that old, I am old enough to have things that I used to love to do. At one time I enjoyed going to amusement parks. While I might still go, I don’t go with same excites before. I used to not mind playing golf by myself. Even though I still love to play, I will not go out of my way to play if I’m going to be playing by myself. What about in our Christian walk? Did your heart burn within you at one time? However, now maybe not as much. Did you used to enjoy picking out a topic or person out of the Bible to study? At one time did you enjoy listening to preaching at anytime, but now it’s just something else you used to do? Maybe you used to go into work and tell others what God has done for you in your life. You might’ve even told them what went on in the last church service? What about now? Do they even still know you go to church? Do they still know you serve a living God?! There are many things in our lives we can look back on and say that we used to enjoy that. Could be hobbies, food, shows, etc. Is there something in your Christian walk that you can say the same thing about? The Bible tells us He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He hasn’t changed so purpose in your heart today to get back to that thing you used to do.

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
