Aug 20 Devotion: Think It Matters?

Think It Matters?

Genesis 5:22,24 [22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: [24] And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Ever feel like you don’t matter? Ever just feel like no one ever pays attention to you? Every one of us, no matter how insignificant we feel, have someone that is watching our lives. They will mimic our little sayings. Sometimes they will mimic our walk. Some may also mimic how we live our lives. How we live our lives can at times have a rather big effect on people in our lives and how they live theirs. Yes, we are all responsible for our own decisions, but we still can affect others with our own decisions. We also have no idea how far of a reach we may have. When you look at our text verses, it says twice that Enoch walked with God. (As a side note: Can you imagine how great it would be to be just walking and talking with God today and Him just take us out of here like Enoch was!) Now Enoch begat Methuselah as we see in vs 22. Methuselah then begat Lamech. Lamech then begat someone we all might know a little better: Noah. Then at 500 years old the Bible tells us that Noah begat his three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. So over 500 years after the Bible says Enoch walked with God we see this verse:

Genesis 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Notice the end of the verse: “Noah walked with God”!! The importance of Enoch waking with God made it all the way to Noah and we see the same thing said about him. Don’t allow the devil to cause you to think down about yourself. Keep living for God cause it is and it will continue to make a difference in lives beyond what you may ever think about.

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
