Aug 23: The Presence of Jesus

Matthew 18:20 – “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.”

This verse is a promise from Jesus that when a few are gathered together that He would be there. A promise from the Lord that He would be present for those that gathered together in His name!

When was the last time you considered that Jesus is present at every service? How would we prepare differently if we knew that He would physically manifest tonight during our worship service? If we knew that we would confront the Lord in the flesh tonight, we would:

1) ALERT others that He would be there; 2) Get in the ALTAR and get right so that He could do something miraculous; and 3) Throw out ARRANGEMENTS/APPOINTMENTS and ensure that we would be where He was and stay as long as He did.

The Lord will be at church tonight! It does not matter that we cannot see Him with our eyes! So why do we forget that He promised to be in our midst and ignore this privileged opportunity to be with Him?

The world was captivated on Monday with a solar eclipse, where the sun was blocked from view by the moon. The reason we don’t come to church excited to be with the SON is because something has eclipsed Him in our hearts and minds that prevent us from seeing Him, even though He still shines just as bright as He always has.

Your fellowservant in Christ,

Bro. Jordan Foster
