Dec. 12 Devotion: You Have A Platform

You Have A Platform

John 4:28-29 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, [29] Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

We all know this story from the Bible about the woman at the well. We get to the end of it here and she goes to tell everyone about this encounter she has just had with Jesus. She wants them all to come and see Him. We could go to other accounts where Jesus had healed someone, changed their lives and they then went and told others what had happened to them and what Jesus had done. Jesus doing something in their lives gave them a platform so to speak to go and tell others. They couldn’t call anyone up, send a tweet or make an online post, but they could go and tell. In todays world we all have a platform we can use. Each one us is different as well. You see so many athletes speak out on things that at times they don’t know much about. Yet, they want to speak just because they have a microphone or large following and want to get their opinion out there. It’s not about being famous or being on social media. We all have people we can reach each day. There is a good chance we will never meet each others co-workers so you have an opportunity to share with them something I’ll never get the chance to. You have an opportunity to stand in front of them and share with them what Jesus has done for you. This woman at the well didn’t tell them anything besides what Jesus had told her about all the things she had done. We can tell anyone about what Jesus has done in our lives. The peace He has given us, and how He is just always there for us. Unfortunately, we find it much easier to stand in front of those around us and discuss sports, politics, tv shows, or our favorite hobbies. There is time for those things. However, there dhoujd also be time for Jesus. Each one of us has a platform. What are you using it for?

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
