Dec. 17 Devotion: At All Times

At All Times

Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

If you look at the entirety of Psalm 34 you’ll find some things I’ll mention to start today. The Lord will deliver you from your fears and troubles (vs. 4 and 6). He’ll make you unashamed (vs. 5). You’ll see His goodness (vs. 8). He will supply your needs (vs. 10). He also hears us when we cry out to Him (vs. 15). These are just a few of the things He does for us that we can find mentioned here. These, as well as many other things He does for us, He does at all times. I can’t think of a time in my life when God hasn’t provided. I can’t think of a time that He’s not been there when I’ve called out to him. When we look at our text verse today, how often do we repay “at all times?” David says he will bless the Lord at all times. Do we? We should bless Him for one because He deserves. Speaking for myself, He is far better to me than I deserve. The least I could do is bless His name. We should bless His name because we should speak His name more than the world. The world is going to use His name in vain. They’re going to curse Him. Then let the world hear a “glory to God” or a “bless His name” from you! We should bless His name at all times because of the effect it could have on those around us. They might not like us sharing the Gospel, but they can’t stop us from just blessing His wonderful name! As you go through your daily walk how often do you bless the Lord?

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
