Returns
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
I’ve always heard today is the number one day for returns. You’ll see stores packed today with people returning things they just got. Some will be returned because they might not fit or don’t work. Some will be returned just because they might not like it. One gift I’ve never heard anyone try to return is the gift of salvation. We hear it talked about so much this time of year that it is the greatest gift you could ever receive. There is truly nothing that compares to the gift of salvation that God has given to those that will believe and receive that gift. However, do we live our life that shows we are thankful and appreciative of that gift? You will see and hear so many complain about their gifts that they received. You won’t hear those that are saved flat out complain, but there are things I’ve heard people say. “I’d like to go, but I’m saved so I probably shouldn’t.” “As a Christian I just can’t do that.” “I’d love to go, but I HAVE to go to church today.” Those can seem like innocent statements, but to the world it can really sound like being a Christian is such a burden and has a bunch of rules that we have to follow. Making statements like that can make it seem as if you aren’t happy being a Christian. I think we’d all agree we wouldn’t want to return our gift of salvation, but are we living a life that shows how thankful and happy we are with that gift!
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
