God Only Wants Best For You
Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Think a moment of everything Joseph has been through up to this point. We know that by the time we get here things are much better in his life than they were when his brothers sold him to the Midianites. Here we find Joseph not only forgives his brothers but tells them he is where God wants him in verse 19: Genesis 50:19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? Not only that, but in our text verse we see how he tells them that while they meant it for evil, God meant it for good. Bro. Greg Phillips said this phrase in church during a message and have not been able to get away from it: God only wants the best for us. It’s so easy to get discouraged in todays world. It’s even harder to understand why you can look at others seem to prosper when they don’t have anything to do with God, yet you might struggle while trying to do everything right. Regardless of what you might be going through God still wants the best for you. We might not understand the storm, but I truly believe it’s all about our mindset in the storm. Absolutely a storm can be hard, possibly even devastating! That don’t change the fact God loves us and He’s still there for us. Instead of asking God why you’re in the storm why don’t you seek what He has for you in the storm. He might be strengthening your faith, He could be trying to show someone else His glory through you, maybe He’s trying to show you something else. No matter the reason we might be going through something God still means it for good. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I encourage you today to keep your eyes focused on Him! Think of how we want nothing but the best for our children. How much more do you think God wants the best for us! Wherever you are or whatever you’re going through God is still there!
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
