Following Jesus
Matthew 4:18-19
And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. [19] And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
The word follow means to get behind. In our text verse Jesus invites Simon and his brother to follow him. To follow Jesus you must change the direction you are going. They were fishermen, but after they began to follow Jesus He said they would become fishers of men. Their purpose in life would change . The importance of following Jesus is revealed. They were to catch men, and the value of that can't be compared to catching a fish. Jesus said what would a man give in exchange for his life. Following Jesus is the best possible life any person could ever have. What kinda place would this world be if everyone was following Jesus? My advice to each and everyone is to get behind Jesus.
