2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
I have observed in my life that no matter what position anyone takes on an issue they tend to shade their descriptions with either an embellishment or conveniently leave out some of the facts that may be contrary to their point of view. The one place I have never seen this is in the word of God. God has no need to embellish but simply to declare. He does not need to slant his declarations and he is not afraid of some fact coming to light that would alter his position. He knows that his truth is always true. He knows that every promise he has ever made has come true or will come true. If he says it is so, it is so. If he says it is untrue, then there is no argument that can change that fact. When he speaks it is always a “yea, and in him Amen.”
How does this apply to us? You can trust what God says. His word is true and it can be relied upon. When God makes promises concerning eternal salvation in Jesus Christ, everyone of them will be fulfilled. When he makes promises of judgment, they will be fulfilled. There is no reason to second-guess what God says. It is without error and comes from a place of God’s omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. It is yea and Amen. So, trust him. There is no reason not to.
