What A Relationship
Psalm 139:1-3 O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. [2] Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. [3] Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
Each one of us have relationships. Some of those can be casual such as with co-workers. Then we have more intimate relationships such as with a spouse. As those relationships grow we begin to learn more and more about the other individual. In regards to a spouse you begin to recognize their scent, their voice, each of their mannerisms and so much more. You get so close you can begin to think you know what they are thinking. Think of what David is saying here in our text. God knows everything about us. He knows our thoughts, knows our steps, and if you read the rest of this chapter you’ll see He knows our speech, and everything about us. God knows all this just cause He’s God. How much do we know about Him? In our earthly relationships the only way to grow closer to someone, to learn more about them, is to spend time with them. How much time do we spend with God? We see our earthly relationships grow when we have a desire to see it grow. When you’re dating someone you have a desire to learn more about them to see if that’s a person you’d want to spend the rest of your life with. Do we have that same desire to learn more about our Saviour? Do we do all we can to grow closer to Him? Our best relationships are when both parties involved are devoted to the other. God has given His all for us! He loves us, and more than holds up His side of the relationship. What about you?
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
