His Hands
Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
I don’t think I could accurately ever put into words Psalm 22. As it describes what Jesus would go through on the cross, there are so many things that can come to mind. Heartbreaking, anger at those mocking Him, just so thankful that He did all this for me, sad at all those that will mock Him even today after all He did for even them! You could go on about the picture this paints in our minds at the sufferings Jesus went through for us!! I want to focus on verse 16 and his hands. I was thinking this week about all those hands have done for us. They created everything Hebrews 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
They can punish Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
They protect John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
They can heal Mark 8:23-25 [23] And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. [24] And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. [25] After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
They can pull us up in times of doubt Matthew 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
They stretched out in love for us all. He laid down on the cross and stretched forth His hands to nailed upon the cross for us!
They will receive us one day Acts 7:56-59 [56] And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. [57] Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, [58] And cast him out of the city, and stoned him : and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. [59] And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
I’m thankful today and everyday for the hands of God and how they’ve touched my life. It should be our goal to always allow God’s hands to work in our lives!
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
