Deal Breaker
Matthew 19:21-22 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. [22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
A few verses prior to these we know this young man here has approached Jesus and asked Him what he had to do to inherit eternal life. After Jesus gives Him an answer that the young man seems to agree with we see in our text verses that Jesus then gives him an answer that he doesn’t like. Selling all he had and following Jesus was a deal breaker for him. Do you have any deal breakers in your life? What if some friends asked you to go out somewhere only to find out there is going to be a lot of drinking there. Would it keep you from going? What if you’re offered a better job but it pulls you away from church or your family. Would that keep you from taking it? What if a friend wants you to be accepting of their homosexuality or shacking up? Are there certain things in your life that you won’t waiver on? Are there no deal breakers in your life and for the right circumstance you’d waiver on anything?
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
