Waiting On The Lord
Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
The problem with waiting is we live in the days when we expect everything to happen immediately. We're living in a fast paced world where waiting isn't an option. Putting your trust in God you've got to work on his time table. He is not a God that you can force him to do what you demand him to do. Waiting on God will build patience and patience is a good thing. In 2 Peter it says to add to your faith patience. When we, as a child of God try to hurry God along we will run into problems, but if we wait on the Lord it will pay off. David said in our text that God inclined unto me and heard my cry. That sounds like good news to me. To know that the God of glory would incline his ear to me and be interested in what's going on in my life. What a blessing we as the children of God have that the lost don't have. David said the Lord brought him up out of the horrible pit and set his feet on a rock and gave him new directions. That sounds like salvation and put a new song in his mouth. God changed the music he was singing and put praise in his heart for the God of glory
God bless
