The Right Foundation
Luke 6:48-49
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. [49] But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
In these verses a comparison is made. The only difference is the foundation the first man took time to dig down into the earth to ensure the strength of the house. The second man without thought he would just build his house upon the earth. Both houses would then encounter a storm. What would allow the first man's house to stand was he built on the right foundation. I'm sure the second man's house was easier to build and took less effort but the future outcome would be drastically different. Today people like the method in which the second house was built. We like the easy way of building, but with God he has a eye for the smallest of detail. People today make much about the looks and not the strength of something. Today's church says be baptized, join the church, do good deeds. All these things are good things to do, but they will not allow you entry into heaven.
John 3.3 Except a man be born again he can not see the kingdom of God.
I believe I would take the advice of Jesus instead of some person.
