Mar. 31 Devotion: Everyday Wisdom

Everyday Wisdom

1 Kings 3:9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

Life ever feel overwhelming? Not necessarily in a bad way. You get to the point where you feel like you need 28 hours in a day and 8 days a week. It is very easy to just take on so much and end up with so many responsibilities that life can weigh you down on many levels. Solomon was about to take over for David and we see in our text that he asks God for the wisdom in how to run the kingdom. While you might not run any kingdoms when was last time you sought wisdom from God on how to handle your situation? Asking God for wisdom on how to delegate responsibility, the order at which things need handled, etc. can lead to you stressing out less to get things done. We seem to seek God for wisdom in understanding Scripture, direction for our life, but very rarely I think do we seek wisdom in everyday decisions or responsibilities. The best thing we can do when we feel overwhelmed is to seek Gods wisdom for our lives in everything. If we will faithfully go to God He will be the help we need!

James 1:5-6 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. [6] But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
