Mar. 4 Devotion: Two Ways

Two Ways

Matthew 7:13-15

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. [15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

In life there are many options when you go to buy a house or a car. They offer many different options to choose from, but in life and where you choose to spend your future at there are only two options. We have two gates: the narrow gate and the wide gate. God instructs us to enter by the narrow gate, because the wide gate leads to destruction and many people are on that way. The narrow gate leads to life and there are few people that find it. We think that because the majority of people are on the broad way we believe that they must be right, but with God that is not right, it’s the narrow way that is the right road. The narrow way is hard to find. The reason for that may be that it's revealed to us by faith and since the beginning of time man has wanted to be right with God by his own works. God is not interested in our works for salvation.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

After salvation God is interested in your works and what you can do for him. The choice you make now in choosing the gate you will enter will determine the kind of future you have.
