What’s Your Vision?
Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
There are plenty things you can point out about President Trump that people don’t like. However, one thing he does seem to have is a vision for what he believes our country can and should be. He truly seems to only want what’s best for the United States. That’s the same with us when it comes to things of a personal nature in our lives. We want the best for our loved ones and especially our children. Think of the vision we have for our children or family. Things you want for them in their lives. Maybe it’s a big house, or a good job, a spouse that treats them right, etc. There are many things we may look forward in our minds and want for them. What about in a spiritual sense? Do we put the same type of thought and prayer into wanting them to become who the Lord wants them to be? Do we have a vision for them to serve Him in the capacity He wants them to? It’s easy to say that serving God is more important, but do we put forth the same amount of energy into prayer for that aspect of their lives as we do worldly things.
Lastly today I have a simple question. What’s your vision for our church (or your church if reading this and are a member somewhere else)? Do you have a vision to see the church build and grow? Do you have a vision to see us reach the lost and for prodigals to come home? Our pastor said something the other day at the end of the prayer chain call that really stirred something in me. He said something along the lines of pray for a revival that will be talked about for decades! Do you have a vision for exactly that sort of meeting? That type of meeting could start this very Lords day if we came looking for it and desiring it. We look ahead so much in our personal lives: promotion on our job, our kids futures, retirement, etc. What’s our vision when it comes to our relationship with Christ and our serving the Lord?
God bless
