March 28 Devotion: Leaping

Leaping

Acts 3:7-8

And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. [8] And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

While it’s possible you’ve never personally done this I’m sure we all have seen someone jump for joy. They had that overwhelming sense of excitement and just couldn’t contain themselves. One of the miracles in this passage that at times can be overlooked is the fact that Scripture tells us this man was lame from his mothers womb. However, as soon as Peter gave him instruction this lame man immediately leapt up and knew how to walk.

I want to then focus on the end of verse 8. This lame man didn’t just leap up and then thank Peter and run off home telling what was done for him. He instead entered the temple. How did he enter? By walking, leaping, and praising God it says. When was the last time you entered the house of God with that kind of joy in your heart? You might not have been lame like this man was at one time, but if you’re saved then at one time you were lost and on your way to hell. Now you have an eternity to spend in heaven! That’s enough to give us joy!! Take a look around at all the the Lord has blessed us with. That also is enough to enter His house with praise on our lips. What do you suppose our services would look like this Lords day if we all entered with joy in our hearts and praise on our lips?

God bless,

Bro. Josh Richardson
