Matthew 7:13-14
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that
leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.
These verses describe two different groups of people, those that take the
broad way and those that take the narrow way. There is also a difference in the
numbers of each group. The broad way is traveled by many while the narrow is
traveled by few. Most of the time people will lean in the direction of, if the
majority is for it, it must be the best or right way, but that is not true when it
comes to this path of life. Destruction awaits the many, while life (eternal,
everlasting life) is the reward for those that travel the less traveled road.
What is being described here in these verses is one path that is led by the
flesh, the world, and the devil in contrast to the path that is led by the Lord
Jesus Christ. There are many options and opinions on the broad way, but
destruction is still the result of them all. Jesus says, trust me as your Savior
and you will find eternal blessing. The choice is yours to make. Don’t follow the
majority to an ending of destruction. Follow the only Savior, the only hope, the
only way that leads to life with the lord forever. He is the way, the truth, and the
life. (John 14:6)
I hope today is filled with the blessings of God as you walk with him on the
road less traveled.
