Giving God glory
Psalm 29:1-3
Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. [2] Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. [3] The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
The word glory means splendor or honor. In our text the Bible states that we are to give God the glory that is due him. We should give God what he is deserving of. In John 3.30 John says He must increase but I must decease. In our lives that would mean that God get the credit for what is happening in every area of our lives. We understand that in our lives the God of glory is moving and working for our benefit. We are no longer trying to fix every situation. In Roman's 3.23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Everyone in this world was born a sinner in need of a Savior. All mankind have come short of God's glory. In verse 24 in that chapter of Roman's it tells us that we are justified freely by grace. So that everyone that has been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb should be able to give glory to the Lord for this awesome salvation.
