Exodus 20:18- “ “And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.”
Without question, the presence of God will bring about great changes in the lives of those that cling unto Him. To others, even Christians, looking from without at one who is in the midst of the presence of God it can seem a fearful thing. When the presence of God is clearly evident in someone’s life, there will be disturbances to those around them.
Someone who lives in the will of God will have: storms to prove their faith to others; a clearly born cross/burdens in service of God; and the fire of God will consume and burn those things which we forsook I order to come closer to God.
On the surface, a carnal Christian will remove themselves from the presence of God because they fear the “cost” it requires to have the presence of God. They purpose to serve God in their own terms, which in reality is not service to God at all.
One cannot remove themselves from the presence of God and be an effective witness. One can not remove themselves off the mountain which God has instructed you to climb without inwardly rejecting God and committing iniquity or sin.
So many Christians are afraid of the commotion that might come if they purposed to commit themselves to the presence of God. That’s why there is no revival. That’s why mediocre lukewarm Christians have no impact of the world. That’s why some will not hear, “Well done” at the Judgement Seat of Christ.
When people realize that the thunder, lightning, and smoke are irrelevant when God is with you, revival will come. We must ever strive to seek His face, follow His instruction, and abide in His presence.
Your fellowservant in Christ, Bro. Jordan Foster
