A Name Above Every Name
Philippians 2:9-11
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
In today's modern world names don't mean much, but there are some names that have a lot of meaning. People of the past that have made an impression on the world. In every venue of life there have been some people that have made a lasting impression on the world. Those that have made inventions, those that have changed the world. The invention of electricity and of the automobile, but there has never been or never will be one that has changed the world like Jesus. The Bible states that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. That is an awesome thought to think that there is nobody else worthy of this honor. In the book of John Jesus makes this statement if you ask anything in my name the Father will give it to you. What a powerful name that praying in his name will cause God to answer your prayers. There is no other name given under heaven whereby you must be saved. His name excludes everyone else when it comes to salvation. What a name!!
