Phil. 2:15– That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
This time of year is festive. Many decorate their homes for Christmas and thousands of strands of lights are displayed in each neighbourhood. When I see them I’m reminded that Jesus, who is the Light, came to this earth some two thousand years ago to illuminate our hearts with the gospel. He told His disciples in Matt. 5 that they were the light of the earth, and in our text verse we are exhorted to shine in this depraved, perverse world. “How can I make a difference?” you may ask, the answer is simply; shine brightly!
