Nov 4 Devotion: Epitaphs

Hebrews 11:5 – “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

Definition of Epitaphs –

1. An inscription on a tomb or grave

2. Words of the memory of one buried

3. A brief statement commemorating a deceased person

I. Abel – Hebrews 11:4

  1. Dead yet speaketh

II. Enoch – Genesis 5:24

  1. He walked with God.

III. Job – Job 1:1

  1. Perfect and upright

IV. Abraham – James 2:23

  1. The friend of God

V. Joseph – Genesis 41:39

  1. Discreet and wise

VI. Moses – Numbers 12:3

  1. Meek above all men

VII. Gideon – Judges 6:12

  1. Mighty man of valor
