Nov. 8 Devotion: Autumn

Autumn

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

As much as I don’t like the cold weather, I do enjoy living someplace that we have all four seasons. Unfortunately, sometimes we can have all four seasons in the same day which can be no fun. However, it’s still enjoyable to see the change each season brings. When you think of the autumn season that we are in now, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? You can think about it starting to get cold, and that it’s typically rainy. However, it’s also showed us something else, especially the last couple weeks. We’ve seen trees go through a beautiful change, and then just things go. They’ve just done exactly what God created them for. What about you? What is it in your life that you are walking around holding on to? Bitterness, envy, jealousy, sin? It could be something else. We weren’t created to carry around things either that God can take care of. It would be a beautiful thing in your life if you’d let go of whatever it is that you are carrying around. Get rid of that excess weight, get that worry off your mind, and just trust God!

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
