Oct. 11 Devotion: Time

Time

1 Peter 4:17

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

What do you think of when it comes to the word time? Most probably immediately think of what time it is based on a clock. Of course it could also mean a certain period of time. You could look at it in the context of being in time for something. You’ll find the word time over 560 times in your KJV Bible. You’ll find this phrase “time is come” just 5 times. Think of the devotion a couple weeks ago about putting things off. It gets to the point that the time is come you have to get certain things done. There are many things you could apply that verse to. What about how it’s used in our text verse? We’d all agree that the Lords return is close. Has the time come yet for you to take things serious enough to look at and judge your life in preparation for His return?

Are you doing all He would have you to do?

Are you focused on treasures in the proper places?

Are you spending the time with Him that you should?

We could go on and on.

I know the lost will find any reason they can to not go to church, not get saved, etc. How many of those reasons though do we attribute to? As Christians do we truly realize that the time of His return is near? Are we willing to judge our own lives and answer a simple question?

Does our life point others to Christ or to the world? His return is near and we are running out of time if we want to see the lost around us get saved!!

God bless you today!
