You Counting Down Or Making It Count?
Matthew 24:35-37 [35] Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. [36] But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. [37] But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
5…4…3…2…1… We see those numbers we each have in our mind what might follow. It could be blastoff, maybe a switch being flipped, or you could yell surprise to someone. There are many things that we countdown to. However, regardless of what we are counting down to there is a commonality in those things: We know that something is about to take place. It’s hard to really countdown to something if we don’t know when something is going to happen. We know Jesus is coming soon. We know it gets closer everyday. However, we don’t know the exact date. So are you sitting around trying to count it down to His return, or are you busy about His will for your life and making this time count. It seems that a lot of Christians have adopted the attitude that I know I’m going to Heaven, and thus just are sitting around waiting for His return. Instead we should be out trying to make these final days count. It goes without saying we know the Bible instructs us to share the Gospel. This world needs the hope that the Gospel presents us with. This world needs the peace the Gospel promises. This world needs the security that the Gospel provides. How well are you making these last days count? I’ve often heard it said that it’s not how you start, but how you finish. How are you finishing? Counting down the days till He comes, or making each day count for the cause of Christ?
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
