Fellowship
1 John 1:3
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Quite a bit has been mentioned lately about relationships. When it comes to our earthly relationships we seem to easily be able to determine whether those relationships are in a good spot or not. We know if we’ve not talked to someone in forever then that’s not a real close relationship. You look at people who are being used by someone and we’d not consider that a very good relationship. How many marriages have failed because that relationship was taken for granted and they slowly grew apart and realized one day they weren’t where they needed to be.
Our relationship with Christ is truly no different. How many go through the motions and truly aren’t where they need to be with God? How many want to use God as a “sugar daddy” so to speak. Only time they talk to Him is when they need something? Are you one that just talks to Him a couple days a week? We wouldn’t talk to our spouse a couple days a week and think we have a good relationship so why would God be any different? How is your fellowship or relationship with the Lord? Do you talk multiple times a day? Is your fellowship with Him better than it was when you got saved? When was last time you talked with Him just because you wanted to talk with Him? Not asking for anything, not praying over food or praying at church, but just wanted to spend a few moments with Him!
God bless you today!
