Text- Isa. 62:3-4- Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
The Prophet Isaiah is inspired to write to God’s people a message of hope concerning their future. He speaks of the day when they’ll no longer be held captive but be captivated by the Lord in a land called Beulah! Beulah means the marrying land and God is letting Israel, Jehovah’s espoused wife, know that there’s coming a day when she’ll dwell in the land of marriage with Him! We too can find strength to know that the Church, the Bride of Christ, will dwell with Him in New Jerusalem! I’m interested in what Israel is called in verse 4: “Hephzibah”. It literally means exactly what the scripture reveals: “The Lord delighteth in thee”.
He Delights in Me!
*He delights in my…
1. Faith!
2. Fawning! (humility)
3. Fondness! (for Him)
4. Flattery! (praise)
5. Fight!
6. Fidelity! (devotion, loyalty)
7. Future! (Beulah -v. 4)
Oh may we live in such a manner that He delights in us!
