Sept. 2 Devotion: Stand Still and See

Stand Still and See

Exodus 14:13

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Mose was instructed by the Lord to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. At this time pharaoh and his army was surrounding the children of Israel with intentions of enslaving them again. One thing we as Christians must understand is that the devil will not stop. He will continue to put pressure on each and everyone of us. He comes with the intention to kill and steal and destroy us, but we should take the advice that God gave Moses to stand still and see what God is capable of doing in our situation. God told Moses to fear not. That’s good advice, but sometimes it is not easy to do. When the problems of life are many we have a tendency to fix the problem ourselves. Standing still is proof that you trust God and it takes faith to wait and see what God is doing. There was nothing that the children of Israel could do any way. Their back was against the wall, but God gave them the victory and they came out rejoicing and singing and praising God.

God bless
