What’s on your shelf?
Psalm 145:18
The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
We live in such a fast paced society that it seems that even 30 hours a day and 8 days in a week wouldn’t be enough. We are constantly on the go and at times really struggle to keep up with what’s going on in our lives. This causes us to have to prioritize some things from time to time. We have things we put on the shelf so to speak to get done at a later time. Some of those things can wait and are understandable. Might put off cleaning the garage so can mow the yard. Maybe you have to put off the mowing in order to work on other landscaping. Might have to put off redecorating so you can just spend time with family. Whatever it may be certain things take priority at different times.
Where does God come into this equation at? How much of a priority do we make the things of God? How quickly are we willing to make plans during church time? How often do we hit the snooze button instead of getting up and spending some time with the Lord? Too often we don’t make the Lord a priority in our life yet we expect Him to be there every time we call on Him. We don’t call on Him to thank Him for His blessings or just to tell Him we love him. We seem to only call on Him in times of trouble. Otherwise we have him placed up on a shelf. Is the Lord at the forefront of your life at all times or do you have him up on a shelf till needed?
God bless you today!
