Sept.3 Devotion:Who You Labouring For?

Who You Labouring For?

Philippians 2:16

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

As a lot of people celebrate a holiday today by getting off their secular jobs I wonder how often we look at doing something for God as “labor”. We have a tendency to lose sight at what God has done for us. When we do that we can look at doing things for God as a burden. While we might complain about our jobs we still go without a problem. We physically see our paycheck so we then have no problem going to our jobs. When we do something for the Lord we might not see the fruits of it here, but that shouldn’t be our desire anyways. We should desire to have treasure in heaven to lay at his feet!!

Revelation 4:10-11

The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, [11] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

We may have to work a worldly job to be able to pay bills, but what we do for Him is a privilege. When we look at it that way then it’s not considered labouring at all. When God uses us we should consider it a blessing that He chooses to use us to further the Gospel in any capacity! God uses people in many different areas and all are just as important as the other.

Do you consider what you do for God labouring or is it something you cherish and consider a honor and privilege?

God bless you today!
