Psalm 113:1-3
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised.
It is crystal clear that God wants us to praise him constantly and continually. There is never a time when he is not worthy of our praise. There is never a time when it is not appropriate to praise him. In the ups or downs of our lives, he is still God. When things seem to be going great or when the days are filled with disappointment, God is still God and worthy to be praised. He sits on his sovereign throne and abdicates for no one. He is always holy, righteous, and without flaws. In him is no darkness at all. He has never made a bad decision, uttered a wrong word, or even thought a bad thought. He is pure without any defilement. He has always been and always will be. In all his eternal existence, he has not changed, he never will, nor will there ever be a reason why he should. He knows everything and still loves us. We rebelled against him, and he made a way for our forgiveness and salvation. “Whosoever will” may come and partake of the water of life freely because he paid the price of redemption. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Without him there is no hope. Without him there is no life. Without him there is no purpose.
So, what should we do?
“Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”
